Meet the Owner

Nyla is the owner and founder of NorthGrain Artisan Bakery, founded in July 2026, though her baking story started long before that.

Baking has been a part of Nyla's life since childhood, born out of a family tradition of holiday desserts made together in the kitchen. Over the years, that tradition grew into something more: a genuine craft, refined recipe by recipe.

Nyla's approach to baking reflects where she comes from. Raised in a multicultural family rooted in Oregon's homesteading heritage and Colombian farming traditions, she draws inspiration from both — blending raw, honest ingredients with artisan techniques passed down from each side of her family.

For 15 years, Nyla built a career in the corporate world. When a wave of layoffs in spring 2026 unexpectedly changed her path, she saw it as an opening, a chance to turn a lifelong passion into something of her own.

That spirit drives NorthGrain today. Nyla is committed to constant improvement, working every recipe until the texture and flavor feel just right. Using premium local ingredients and rotating seasonal flavors, every bake reflects that same promise: quality, always.
